Founded in 1986 by James Mitchell, a third-generation Tuscaloosa native and certified arborist, our company started with one truck and a commitment to keeping West Alabama families safe. Today, we’re still family-owned—now run by James’s son, Mike Mitchell (ISA Certified Arborist #SO-5847)—operating six specialized trucks and employing twelve certified arborists who live right here in Tuscaloosa County.

Our Story
1986 – James Mitchell, a certified arborist and third-generation Tuscaloosa resident, founded our company with a single truck and a vision: provide professional tree care that keeps families safe without cutting corners on quality or safety.
1998 – Became members of the Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA), committing to the highest industry standards and continuing education for our growing team.
2011 – When the devastating April 27 tornado struck Tuscaloosa, our crews worked around the clock for weeks, responding to hundreds of emergency calls and helping our community recover from catastrophic tree damage.
2016 – Mike Mitchell, James’s son and ISA Certified Arborist, took over daily operations, bringing 22 years of hands-on experience and a commitment to continuing his father’s legacy of excellence.

Mike grew up in the tree care business, learning from his father, James, from the age of 14. After earning his ISA certification in 2002, he worked alongside his father for years before taking over operations in 2016. Mike personally supervises every major job and is available by phone for every client.
